A rolled gold bar style pin decorated with taille d'epargne enamel, a moon and a small red stone. The pin is quite detailed with hand engraving and a bit of dotted edging. The hinge is a short tube hinge and the clasp is an early safety style resembling the head of a safety pin. These pins were mainly worn at the neck on the collar. I am estimating it to be late Victorian or Edwardian.
Condition: This pin came to us in need of much restoration. The metal was bent back into position in several places including the clasp, the top was reconnected to the bottom on one side and the edges of the enamel were touched up for balance. There is wear to the edges of the rolled gold, some missing enamel and the pin in the hinge is an old repair. We have priced this down accordingly, but as you can see, it is a lovely antique pin that is quite wearable now.
