One of my favorite Victorian or Edwardian finds to date! This is a very unusual and pretty enameled flower pin. It was difficult to photograph all of the wonderful details. This pin has three wonderful little forget me not flowers which in the Victorian language of flowers meant Remember Me Forever. The background is black with shiny metal flowers and leaves showing through that have been colored with transparent enamel. Gold stems and leaves were hand-painted on top of the black (you can see some of them in the second photo) and the entire pin was covered in a clear coat or laquer.
The base of the pin is round with a bezel setting. A twisted decoration goes around the edge of the pin. The material appears to be gold over a silver metal. I did not test it since I did not want to cut it deeply. The clasp is a C-clasp. In excellent shape for a pin this age.
