A gorgeous and unusual sterling silver bird of paradise pin accented with Japanese Akoya pearls, garnets, emeralds and 18K gold. There are 10 pearls ranging from 4mm to 5mm in size. The leaves appear to be 18K vermeil. This pin has the clasp and hinge seen on vintage Japanese Akoya pearl designs including Mikimoto, but there are no marks other than SILVER 18K on this piece. The garnets and the emeralds were tested with a Presidium gem tester but it cannot determine if they are natural or lab created. There is a loop on the back where the top wing is so you may also wear this beauty as a pendant.
Condition: In excellent condition with very little wear. This is most likely rhodium plated sterling silver and the only portion that required light polishing were the gold leaves.
