Product Features

A wonderful example of a Chinese filigree and carved cinnabar pin from the 1920's-1930's. This pin is silver gilt over copper and is intricately detailed. The hand carved cinnabar depicts both flowers and leaves. The carving is very deep and well done. The pin is edged in delicate filigree that has aged to a dark patina. It provides a wonderful contrast to the deep red cinnabar. The reverse of the pin has an early safety clasp and is stamped CHINA.

This style of jewelry was created for export out of China and was carried to many countries. Many pieces have not survived due to the intricate nature of the carvings and the filigree which has made them quite popular today.

Condition: In very nice condition with heavy patina.
