I love mosaic jewelry! This is a neat pin created from rods of glass that are cut and then placed on a base to create a design (think millefiore without it being melted together). This pin features gold plated accents and a floral motif. I especially love the tricolored blue circular inserts around the edge. Technically this is a "Mosaic" not a "Micro Mosaic". Micro mosaics use thousands of very tiny pieces of glass and they are very expensive. Today, this style of jewelry is commonly called micro mosaic even though it really isn't the same thing. Signed Italy on the back.
Condition: In very good condition. There is a slight bend in the pinstem and the hinge was soldered on a bit crooked. The pin still works and holds well. A few of the very tiny red tessarae around the outer edge are missing.
