This is a very unusual sash pin with a criss crossed frame decorated with circular patterns. There are four small prong set red paste stones and a large amethyst colored large glass centerpiece. It makes quite the statement and would be the perfect addition to your sash pin collection.
Sash pins were popular from the 1890's-1920's. They are large, have heavy pin stems and usually close with a heavy c-clasp. Some of the later sash pins can have a safety catch and thinner stems. They were most often worn at the center of the waist on a fabric sash. Many were designed to look like belt buckles. This was the perfect way to draw attention to your small waistline.
Condition: In excellent condition with some expected patina. Like many sash pins with c-clasps the clasp is loose until it is pinned through clothing.
