Sterling silver and carved black onyx warrior face earrings from Mexico. The carved faces are set in sterling silver. These earrings have screwbacks made from brass and the backs are marked "MEXICO SILVER". This style of jewelry was made in the Taxco Mexico area and was popular in the 1930-1940's. There is no eagle stamp so that would make it pre-1948.
The earrings are in great vintage shape. Similar pieecs in this style may be found in many reference books including page 114 of "Popular Jewelry 1840-1940" by Roseann Ettinger.
